They limit our legal responsibility to you.<\/p>\r\n      <\/div>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-1\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">01<\/span>Agreement to these terms<\/h2>\r\n        <p>By using this website, creating an account, applying for or renewing membership, submitting a directory listing or job posting, buying a ticket, placing an advertisement, or making any purchase, you agree to these Terms and to our <a href=\"\/privacy-policy\">Privacy Policy<\/a>, which forms part of this agreement.<\/p>\r\n        <p><strong>If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use this website.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n        <p>If you are using this website on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation, and \u201cyou\u201d means both you and that organisation.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-2\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">02<\/span>Who we are and what this site does<\/h2>\r\n        <p>CCCA is a not-for-profit industry association serving the Chinese-Canadian construction community in Ontario. This website is an <strong>information and networking platform<\/strong>. Through it we:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>Publish a Business Directory of construction-related companies;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Host a job board where employers post positions;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Announce and sell tickets to association events;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Display advertising and sponsorship placements;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Publish association news and industry information;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Administer membership accounts.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p><strong>CCCA is not a contractor, employer, employment agency, broker, insurer, licensing body, or party to any transaction between users of this site.<\/strong> We provide a place to publish and find information. We do not perform, supervise, guarantee or insure the work, services, employment or transactions that may follow.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-3\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">03<\/span>Eligibility and your account<\/h2>\r\n        <p>You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or make a purchase.<\/p>\r\n        <p>When you register, you agree to give accurate, current and complete information, and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>Keep your password confidential and do not share your login;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Do not transfer, sell or lend your account to anyone else;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Do not create an account using someone else\u2019s identity or a company you are not authorised to represent;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>We may refuse, suspend or close an account that contains false information, is used by an unauthorised person, or is used in breach of these Terms.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-4\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">04<\/span>Membership<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Membership is offered at the levels and fees published on this website from time to time. Registering an account does not by itself make you a member.<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li><strong>Approval is at our discretion.<\/strong> We may accept or decline any membership application. We are not required to give reasons.<\/li>\r\n          <li>Membership runs for the term stated at the time of purchase and does not renew automatically unless the checkout page says so.<\/li>\r\n          <li>Membership benefits \u2014 including directory placement, posting rights and event pricing \u2014 are those published at the time, and we may change them on reasonable notice.<\/li>\r\n          <li>Membership is personal to the member company or individual and cannot be transferred, shared or resold.<\/li>\r\n          <li>We may suspend or terminate membership for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or conduct that harms CCCA, its members or the public.<\/li>\r\n          <li>When membership ends or is suspended, we may remove or unpublish your directory listing, job postings and other member-only content.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>Membership does not create a partnership, joint venture, agency or employment relationship between you and CCCA, and does not entitle you to represent CCCA or to use our name or logo except as we expressly permit in writing.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-5\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">05<\/span>Fees, payment and taxes<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Prices for membership, tickets, advertising and other services are shown on this website in Canadian dollars, and applicable taxes are added at checkout.<\/p>\r\n        <p>Payments are processed by <strong>Stripe<\/strong>. By paying, you also accept Stripe\u2019s terms. You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you provide.<\/p>\r\n        <p>We may change our prices at any time. A price change does not affect an order you have already paid for.<\/p>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"note\">\r\n          <p><strong>Refunds and cancellations are governed by our <a href=\"\/refund-policy\">Refund Policy<\/a><\/strong>, which forms part of these Terms.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n\r\n        <p>If a payment fails, is reversed, or is charged back, we may suspend the related service until the amount is paid, and we may recover reasonable costs of collection.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-6\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">06<\/span>Business Directory<\/h2>\r\n        <p>The Business Directory lets members publish a listing for their company. If you submit a listing, you agree that:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>Every detail you publish \u2014 company name, contact information, address, description, service categories, licences, certifications and credentials \u2014 is <strong>true, accurate, current and lawful<\/strong>;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You are authorised to publish the company\u2019s information, and you own or have permission to use every image, logo and text you upload;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You will keep your listing up to date, and correct or remove information that becomes out of date \u2014 including phone numbers, addresses, services and credentials;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You will not claim a licence, certification, insurance, membership, award or qualification that your company does not actually hold;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You will not publish a listing for a company you do not own or represent;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You will not submit duplicate listings, keyword-stuffed listings, or listings for a business that has no genuine construction-related activity.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>Listings may be reviewed before or after publication. Listing placement, category, ranking and display format are determined by us and by the features of the software we use, and may change.<\/p>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"note\">\r\n          <p><strong>A directory listing is not a certification.<\/strong> Appearing in the Directory does not mean CCCA has verified the company\u2019s licences, insurance, qualifications, workmanship or financial standing, and does not mean CCCA recommends it. See section 13.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-7\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">07<\/span>Job board<\/h2>\r\n\r\n        <h3>If you post a job<\/h3>\r\n        <p>You may only post a genuine, currently available position that you are authorised to advertise. You agree that:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>The posting is accurate \u2014 the employer, role, location, duties, and any stated compensation are real and not misleading;<\/li>\r\n          <li>The posting complies with the <strong>Ontario Human Rights Code<\/strong> and does not express a preference, limitation or qualification based on race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital or family status, disability, or any other protected ground \u2014 except where a bona fide occupational requirement applies;<\/li>\r\n          <li>The posting complies with the <strong>Employment Standards Act, 2000<\/strong> and all other applicable employment, immigration and privacy laws;<\/li>\r\n          <li><strong>You will not charge a job seeker any fee<\/strong> \u2014 for the position, for training, for placement, for equipment, or for anything else \u2014 as a condition of applying for or obtaining the job;<\/li>\r\n          <li>The posting is not a scheme to collect personal information, sell products or services, recruit for unpaid work misdescribed as employment, or advertise a multi-level marketing opportunity;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You will remove or update the posting once the position is filled or withdrawn;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You will handle applicant personal information lawfully, use it only to assess the application, and not sell or misuse it.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p><strong>The employer is the employer.<\/strong> CCCA is not the employer, is not an employment agency or recruiter, and takes no part in hiring decisions, interviews, offers, contracts, wages or working conditions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n        <h3>If you apply for a job<\/h3>\r\n        <p>You are responsible for evaluating any employer and any position before you apply, share personal information, attend an interview, or accept an offer. Information you send through the job board goes to the employer, and the employer handles it under its own practices \u2014 not ours.<\/p>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"note\">\r\n          <p><strong>Never pay a fee to obtain a job, and never send banking details, SIN, or identity documents to an employer you have not verified.<\/strong> If a posting on this site asks you for money or for sensitive personal documents up front, do not respond \u2014 report it to us at once.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-8\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">08<\/span>Events and tickets<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Event details, dates, venues, speakers, programmes and prices are subject to change. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered attendees of material changes.<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>A ticket admits the named holder and is not transferable unless we say otherwise in writing;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You must follow the venue\u2019s rules and any conduct requirements we announce; we may refuse admission or remove anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, unlawful or disruptive;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Events may be photographed, recorded or livestreamed. By attending, you agree that your image and voice may appear in CCCA\u2019s coverage of the event. If you do not want to appear, tell us in advance and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate you;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Cancellation, postponement and refunds are handled under our <a href=\"\/refund-policy\">Refund Policy<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>You attend events at your own risk. Where an event involves a site visit, tour or physical activity, additional waivers or safety requirements may apply.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-9\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">09<\/span>Advertising and sponsorship<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Advertising and sponsorship placements are sold at the tiers, positions, rotations and durations set out in the applicable order or sponsorship agreement.<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your advertisement, and for holding all rights to its images, text and marks;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Advertising must comply with the <strong>Competition Act<\/strong> and all other applicable advertising and consumer protection laws \u2014 no false or misleading claims;<\/li>\r\n          <li>We may refuse, remove or reposition any advertisement that we consider inaccurate, unlawful, unsafe, offensive, or inconsistent with CCCA\u2019s purpose, and we will refund the unused portion of the placement if we do so for reasons other than your breach;<\/li>\r\n          <li><strong>We do not guarantee impressions, clicks, leads, enquiries, ranking or any commercial result.<\/strong> Placement is displayed on a rotating basis and exact impression counts are not warranted;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Sponsorship does not give the sponsor editorial control over CCCA\u2019s content, membership decisions or association business.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>Advertisements are the advertiser\u2019s own statements. Publishing an advertisement is not an endorsement by CCCA of the advertiser or of anything advertised.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-10\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">10<\/span>Your content and the licence you grant<\/h2>\r\n        <p>\u201cYour content\u201d means anything you submit, upload or publish through this website \u2014 directory listings, job postings, event submissions, advertisements, articles, comments, images, logos, videos and documents.<\/p>\r\n        <p><strong>You keep ownership of your content.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n        <p>By submitting it, you grant CCCA a <strong>non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence<\/strong> to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and display, publish, and distribute your content, for the purpose of operating and promoting this website and the association\u2019s activities. This licence lasts as long as your content is published on the site, and continues afterwards only to the extent needed for backups, archival records, and material already distributed (for example, a newsletter that was already sent).<\/p>\r\n        <p>You confirm that:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>You own your content, or have all the rights and permissions needed to submit it and to grant this licence;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Your content does not infringe anyone\u2019s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights;<\/li>\r\n          <li>You have consent from every identifiable individual appearing in any photo or video you submit;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Your content is not confidential and you accept that anything you publish may be seen by anyone and indexed by search engines.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>We may credit your content to you and may display it alongside other content, including advertising.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-11\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">11<\/span>Content standards and prohibited conduct<\/h2>\r\n        <p>You must not submit, publish or transmit anything that is:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>False, misleading, fraudulent, or a misrepresentation of a business, credential, licence or job;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a professional industry platform;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Infringing of copyright, trademark or any other right;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Spam, chain messages, or unsolicited commercial messaging;<\/li>\r\n          <li>A virus, malware, or code intended to damage or interfere with any system.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p>You must not:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li><strong>Scrape, crawl, harvest, copy or extract the Business Directory, job listings, member lists or any other data from this site<\/strong>, in whole or in part, by automated means or otherwise, whether for a competing directory, a marketing list, an AI training set, or any other purpose;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Use contact details obtained from this site to send unsolicited commercial messages;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit any part of this site or its content;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, server or system, probe or test our security, or bypass any access control or rate limit;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Interfere with the operation of the site, or place an unreasonable load on it;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Impersonate any person, company or CCCA itself, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Use this site for any purpose that is unlawful or that these Terms prohibit.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-12\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">12<\/span>Our right to review, edit and remove<\/h2>\r\n        <p>We may, but are <strong>not obliged to<\/strong>, review content before or after it is published.<\/p>\r\n        <p>At our discretion and without prior notice, we may refuse, edit, reformat, recategorise, relocate, unpublish, suspend or delete any content or account \u2014 for breach of these Terms, for a legal or safety reason, following a complaint, or because content is inaccurate, out of date, or inconsistent with the purpose of the site.<\/p>\r\n        <p><strong>We are not responsible for content submitted by users.<\/strong> The fact that content appears on this site does not mean we have checked it, approved it, or agree with it.<\/p>\r\n        <p>If we remove your content, we will make reasonable efforts to tell you why, unless we are legally prevented from doing so or the circumstances make it inappropriate.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-13\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">13<\/span>No endorsement, no verification, no guarantee<\/h2>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"note\">\r\n          <p><strong>This section is important. Please read it.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n          <p>The Business Directory, the job board and all user content on this site are provided <strong>for information only<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n\r\n        <p>CCCA does <strong>not<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n        <ul>\r\n          <li>Verify the licences, insurance, bonding, WSIB coverage, certifications, qualifications, financial standing, safety record or workmanship of any company listed in the Directory;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Verify the identity, legitimacy, solvency or employment practices of any employer posting a job, or the qualifications of any applicant;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Verify the accuracy of any description, image, credential or claim published by a user or an advertiser;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Recommend, endorse, certify, approve, guarantee or vouch for any listed company, employer, advertiser, sponsor, product, service or job;<\/li>\r\n          <li>Guarantee any outcome \u2014 including directory ranking, page views, enquiries, customers, hires, business results, or the quality, timeliness, cost or safety of any work performed.<\/li>\r\n        <\/ul>\r\n        <p><strong>Membership in CCCA is not a licence, certification, accreditation or quality assurance of any kind.<\/strong> It means the member has applied, been accepted, and paid the applicable fee \u2014 nothing more.<\/p>\r\n        <p>Before you hire a contractor, engage a service provider, accept a job, or enter into any transaction with anyone you find through this site, <strong>do your own due diligence<\/strong>: confirm licences and insurance directly with the issuing authority, check references, get written quotes and contracts, and take independent professional advice where appropriate.<\/p>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n\r\n      <section id=\"ts-14\">\r\n        <h2><span class=\"num\">14<\/span>Dealings with other users and third parties<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Any contract, transaction, hiring, engagement, payment, dispute or relationship between you and another user of this site \u2014 a contractor, supplier, employer, job applicant, advertiser or sponsor \u2014 is <strong>solely between you and that person<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n        <p><strong>CCCA is not a party to it<\/strong>, is not an agent or broker for either side, and has no obligation to become involved in, mediate, investigate or resolve any dispute between users.
