<\/p>\nThe Canada-China Architectural Association held a board meeting on November 28, 2024, at 7:00 PM via Z Square (2710 14th Ave., Markham, ON, L3R 0J1) and the Zoom online platform. The meeting elected Alex Huang (Ample Electric) as the new president and four executive vice presidents. The association also issued a statement clarifying the facts regarding recent false claims about an "upgraded headquarters." The meeting was co-chaired by President Jason Pu and Founding President and Supervisor Raymond Wan.<\/p>\n
The board members enjoyed a light meal and shared industry information under the warm welcome of Z Square Architects' Mengdi Zhen and Joyce Zhen. Architect Mengdi Zhen introduced Z Square's business and premises and expressed her welcome to the board members present.<\/p>\n
The newly joined board member companies introduced their company history, business, and scale to the board, and were subsequently approved by the board to become members of the new board. The newly joined board member companies include:<\/p>\n
1) George Liu, chairman of Classic Brand Cabinetry, manufactures kitchen cabinets in China. He opened a showroom and warehouse in Mississauga, Canada 15 years ago. He now has more than 600 agents, including Home Hardware and Rona, with annual sales of nearly 10 million. In recent years, he has also established Window Star to promote high-end aluminum doors and windows in the luxury home market.<\/p>\n
2) Mike Wang, President of Canada Fastening Corporation \/ Driven Fasteners, is the founder of a large-scale hardware fastener importer and wholesaler. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the company operates throughout North America, serving major building materials chains, retailers, distributors, and wholesalers. In 2023, the company was recognized as one of Canada's top growth companies by The Globe and Mail.<\/p>\n

Following this, Raymond Wan, the founding president and supervisor of the Canada-China Architects Association, submitted a statement to the council for discussion regarding a recent event in which some former council members of the association organized an organization called "Upgrade Association" in Toronto, and issued a statement to the community.<\/p>\n
1) The Canada-China Architectural Association was established in 2017. It is a nationwide non-profit professional association mainly composed of leading Chinese-Canadian architectural companies. Its mission is to promote exchanges and cooperation between the Canadian and Chinese architectural fields, help member companies develop, enhance the overall influence of Chinese people in the architectural industry, and achieve resource sharing and win-win cooperation.<\/p>\n
2) This council has never discussed or passed a proposal to change the name to "Upgraded General Association". Any council member, whether resigned or not, who claims that "Upgraded General Association" is an upgraded version of the Canada-China Architectural Association is misleading and illegal. The Canada-China Architectural Association has no relationship with the so-called upgraded General Association.<\/p>\n

4. Election of a new president and executive vice president.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Supervisory Board nominated former Secretary General Alex Huang as a candidate for the new president. Alex shared his 20 years of experience in building electricity in Toronto and the achievements he made for the association as Secretary General. He also introduced his vision and plans for the future development of the association. The Board of Directors unanimously approved Alex Huang as the new president, effective immediately.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 5. The council members form functional groups to provide comprehensive services to members.<\/strong><\/p>\n 1) Association Development and Annual Meeting Group<\/strong><\/p>\n 2) Association Business Promotion Team<\/strong><\/p>\n 3) Community Activities and Awards Panel<\/strong><\/p>\n 4) Membership Services and Skills Training Team<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n 6. The working group shall submit a plan to the council within two weeks, including...<\/strong><\/p>\n 1) The 2025 Annual Meeting is scheduled to be held at the Hilton Hotel in April 2025. Specific details will be further confirmed and finalized by the Annual Meeting Organizing Committee.<\/p>\n 2) The association will offer group discounts on car and home insurance, expedite website upgrades, and provide free homepage scrolling ads and WeChat\/Xiaohongshu promotions for board member companies, while regular members will receive free classified ads in the Yellow Pages.<\/p>\n 3) The association\u2019s last engineering training session of the year will be held in mid-December by Sany Heavy Industry at Mr. Bin, including excavator and loader operation certificate courses. Next year, safety training certificate courses such as high-altitude operations will be offered.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A solemn statement regarding the false claims made by the "Upgrade Association".<\/strong><\/p>\n Recently, the Canada-China Architectural Association (CCCA) has noticed an organization called "Upgrading Association" emerging in the Toronto area of Canada. This organization claims to be an upgraded version of the CCCA and even attempts to establish connections with us. We solemnly declare that the Canada-China Architectural Association has absolutely no connection with "Upgrading Association." We have never participated in the establishment or upgrading of this organization, nor have we authorized it to use our name, logo, or reputation. These claims are completely false and untrue.<\/p>\n Since its establishment eight years ago, the Canada-China Construction Association has become a highly professional and credible non-profit organization in Canada. Under the leadership of its Honorary President, former Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, and with the support of the Chinese construction community across Canada, it has grown into a national professional association. Our council members comprise seasoned professionals from the Canadian construction industry, including builders, developers, construction professionals, building material suppliers, and thousands of other industry practitioners.
