The Canada-China Architectural Association held a board meeting on November 28, 2024, at 7:00 PM via Z Square (2710 14th Ave., Markham, ON, L3R 0J1) and the Zoom online platform. The meeting elected Alex Huang (Ample Electric) as the new president and four executive vice presidents. The association also issued a statement clarifying the facts regarding recent false claims about an "upgraded headquarters." The meeting was co-chaired by President Jason Pu and Founding President and Supervisor Raymond Wan.
The board members enjoyed a light meal and shared industry information under the warm welcome of Z Square Architects' Mengdi Zhen and Joyce Zhen. Architect Mengdi Zhen introduced Z Square's business and premises and expressed her welcome to the board members present.
The newly joined board member companies introduced their company history, business, and scale to the board, and were subsequently approved by the board to become members of the new board. The newly joined board member companies include:
1) George Liu, chairman of Classic Brand Cabinetry, manufactures kitchen cabinets in China. He opened a showroom and warehouse in Mississauga, Canada 15 years ago. He now has more than 600 agents, including Home Hardware and Rona, with annual sales of nearly 10 million. In recent years, he has also established Window Star to promote high-end aluminum doors and windows in the luxury home market.
2) Mike Wang, President of Canada Fastening Corporation / Driven Fasteners, is the founder of a large-scale hardware fastener importer and wholesaler. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the company operates throughout North America, serving major building materials chains, retailers, distributors, and wholesalers. In 2023, the company was recognized as one of Canada's top growth companies by The Globe and Mail.
Following this, Raymond Wan, the founding president and supervisor of the Canada-China Architects Association, submitted a statement to the council for discussion regarding a recent event in which some former council members of the association organized an organization called "Upgrade Association" in Toronto, and issued a statement to the community.
1) The Canada-China Architectural Association was established in 2017. It is a nationwide non-profit professional association mainly composed of leading Chinese-Canadian architectural companies. Its mission is to promote exchanges and cooperation between the Canadian and Chinese architectural fields, help member companies develop, enhance the overall influence of Chinese people in the architectural industry, and achieve resource sharing and win-win cooperation.
2) This council has never discussed or passed a proposal to change the name to "Upgraded General Association". Any council member, whether resigned or not, who claims that "Upgraded General Association" is an upgraded version of the Canada-China Architectural Association is misleading and illegal. The Canada-China Architectural Association has no relationship with the so-called upgraded General Association.
4. Election of a new president and executive vice president.
The Supervisory Board nominated former Secretary General Alex Huang as a candidate for the new president. Alex shared his 20 years of experience in building electricity in Toronto and the achievements he made for the association as Secretary General. 2) The association will offer group discounts on car and home insurance, expedite website upgrades, and provide free homepage scrolling ads and WeChat/Xiaohongshu promotions for board member companies, while regular members will receive free classified ads in the Yellow Pages.
3) The association’s last engineering training session of the year will be held in mid-December by Sany Heavy Industry at Mr. Bin, including excavator and loader operation certificate courses. Next year, safety training certificate courses such as high-altitude operations will be offered.
A solemn statement regarding the false claims made by the "Upgrade Association".
Recently, the Canada-China Architectural Association (CCCA) has noticed an organization called "Upgrading Association" emerging in the Toronto area of Canada. This organization claims to be an upgraded version of the CCCA and even attempts to establish connections with us. We solemnly declare that the Canada-China Architectural Association has absolutely no connection with "Upgrading Association." We have never participated in the establishment or upgrading of this organization, nor have we authorized it to use our name, logo, or reputation. These claims are completely false and untrue.
Since its establishment eight years ago, the Canada-China Construction Association has become a highly professional and credible non-profit organization in Canada. Under the leadership of its Honorary President, former Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, and with the support of the Chinese construction community across Canada, it has grown into a national professional association. Our council members comprise seasoned professionals from the Canadian construction industry, including builders, developers, construction professionals, building material suppliers, and thousands of other industry practitioners. We are committed to the principle of "resource sharing and win-win cooperation," promoting collaboration and development between entrepreneurs in the Canadian and Chinese construction industries, enhancing the professional standing and reputation of Chinese professionals in Canada, and establishing an outstanding reputation and brand recognition within the industry.
Thank you all for your continued trust and support of the Canada-China Architecture Association!

Official Statement Regarding False Claims by *CCC
Recently, we have observed the emergence of an organization in Toronto called the *CCC which has falsely claimed to be an “upgraded version” of the Canadian Chinese Construction Association (CCCA). We hereby issue a formal and unequivocal statement: the Canadian Chinese Construction Association has absolutely no connection to the *CCC. We were not involved in its establishment, nor have we authorized the use of our name, logo, or reputation. These claims are entirely false and misleading.
The Canadian Chinese Construction Association was established eight years ago and is a highly reputable, non-profit organization based in Toronto, Canada. Our membership includes thousands of professionals from the construction industry, including builders, developers, industry experts, suppliers, and workers. Guided by the principles of resource sharing and mutual success, our association has consistently worked to foster collaboration between the Canadian and Chinese construction industries, earning widespread trust and recognition.
The National Bureau of Statistics released figures for investment in new housing construction nationwide in September of this year. This indicates that developers intend to increase their investment in the national housing market this fall.Ontario is a major driver of investor investment in new housing construction, contributing to the nation's total housing investment.Statistics Department figures show that developers’ confidence in investing in the construction of new residential and commercial properties across the country is gradually recovering. The report indicates that in September of this year, developers invested HK$21.6 billion in housing construction. It rose 2.11 TP3T compared to August, and 6.71 TP3T compared to the same period last year.Regarding residential buildings, the investment in newly constructed residential housing nationwide...September saw an increase of over $430 million, with over $230 million of that occurring in Ontario alone. The construction industry agrees that builders across the country and in Ontario have been eager to invest in and construct new properties in recent months.
In the past month or two, we, as builders and developers, have all felt that the market has recovered.Ontario itself is an economic powerhouse in every aspect. So, all of these factors combined reflect that there are already signs of this recovery beginning. The report mentioned that investment in low-density housing nationwide reached over NT$270 million.Ontario accounted for over $140 million of that investment. The total investment in newly built apartment buildings across the country exceeded 160 million yuan. However, Ontario's investment amounted to only $90 million.Wen Wenwei frankly admitted that the development fees levied by the Ontario government on newly built parking lots are too high.Adding the value of existing vacant properties built within the province, developers may need to clear their existing inventory first.Only then will we consider investing in and building new condominiums.
To officially obtain a construction loan, a condominium owner needs to sell their property for 70%.If your sales do not meet this standard,Basically, you can't start working without securing a loan.
He stated that construction workers' wages and raw material costs remain high. All of these factors have limited the amount of investment available to developers.Fortunately, the interest rate cuts continued, reducing developers' borrowing costs. He predicts that more developers will invest in building new buildings next year. 。
To address the housing crisis, Premier Ford announced two years ago that 1.5 million homes would be built within 10 years. Whether this ambitious goal can be achieved is a matter of opinion. However, if you pay attention, you'll notice that many vacant lots in the Greater Toronto Area are fenced off for housing development, but construction has yet to begin. Why is this? The construction industry, which contributes 61% to the national GDP annually, is currently showing strong interest from developers. Today, we've invited Wen Wenwei, the founding president of the Canada-China Architectural Association, to discuss this issue with you.

Kang Wang, an Australian tenor of Chinese descent, is one of the most sought-after lyric tenors in the opera world today.
Wang Kang has performed in many internationally renowned theaters. In the 2024-25 season, he will appear on several important stages, demonstrating his status on the international opera stage: playing Macduff in Macbeth at the Washington National Opera, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly at the Canadian Opera Company, Alfredo in La Traviata at the Seiji Ozawa Academy of Music, Rodolfo in Luisa Miller at the Washington Concert Opera, Tamino in The Magic Flute at the Hong Kong Opera, and Alfredo in La Traviata again at the Tyrolël Festival in Austria.
Wang Kang has collaborated with many world-renowned orchestras, participated in the performance of numerous large-scale musical works and opera concerts, and has also held solo concerts in the United Kingdom, the United States, Estonia, Russia, China, and Australia.
It is rare for a Chinese singer to occupy a leading position in the international opera world, requiring a high level of skill across the board. Last year, Wang Kang was invited by the Canadian Opera Company to perform Rodolfo in *La Bohème* in Toronto, receiving critical acclaim. At the end of January 2025, he will play the male lead in the Italian opera *Madama Butterfly*, also produced by the Canadian Opera Company. This gave the foundation the opportunity to invite him to sing classic arias from *La Traviata* and *Tosca* at the New Year's Concert.

A multi-talented musician and magician, he is also a pianist, songwriter, composer, talk show host, and musical theater writer and director. Ms. Li Yan, Chairperson of the Li Delun Music Foundation, stated that the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert has become a globally renowned cultural event since 1939. The Li Delun Music Foundation's "East Meets West New Year's Concert" not only carries on this tradition but also blends Chinese and Western cultures, presenting Toronto audiences with a uniquely captivating artistic feast.
Li Yan said that with Chinese people spread all over the world, outstanding Chinese musicians and artists are emerging in large numbers. Every year, the foundation invites outstanding musicians and emerging musical talents from around the world and China to Toronto to participate in conducting, performing, or lecturing. The "East Meets West New Year Concert" is not only an important platform for promoting outstanding Chinese and Chinese artists and Chinese musical works, but also provides valuable opportunities and support for emerging young musicians to step onto the international stage.
Through this concert, the Li Delun Music Foundation hopes to promote exchanges between Chinese and Western music and art; build an international stage for overseas Chinese artists and young musical talents; promote multicultural integration; and enhance unity and exchanges among different ethnic groups in the community.
Li Yan stated that the concert's introduction clearly demonstrates the immense effort required to organize such a high-caliber event. Whether it's classical music or other refined art forms, the production costs are quite high, demanding significant human and material resources to create an unforgettable artistic feast.

Ms. Chen Danlei, representative of Moshi Architecture, said in her speech at the press conference: "Some say that music is a flowing art, while architecture is frozen musical notes. Music touches our hearts with its melodies, while architecture beautifies our lives with its spaces. Although the fields are different, the pursuit is the same—that is, to create a better life experience for people. It is because of this common ground that Moshi Architecture, with its excellent reputation for more than 20 years, has decided to sponsor the 2025 New Year's Concert hosted by the Li Delun Foundation, which also has an outstanding brand. We hope to share the beauty of life with everyone."“
Chen Danlei stated that both music and architecture begin with a solid foundation. Every note, every brick, contributes to a magnificent work. Our community is the same, built upon the unique contributions of each individual. We are connected by music, and we hope this connection will continue, allowing us to build a better future together.
