CCCA Attends Zunyue Residence Senior Community Press Conference by Invitation
On June 26, 2026, the Zunyue Residence Senior Community Press Conference was held at Woodside Square in Scarborough. At the invitation of the organizers, the Canadian Chinese Construction Association (CCCA) sent representatives to attend, joining Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, Member of Parliament Shaun Chen, representatives from all levels of government, community leaders, and several hundred guests from the senior care, healthcare, and business sectors to witness the official public launch of this innovative senior living community.
The Canadian Chinese Construction Association is a professional industry association based in the Greater Toronto Area, with members spanning builders, developers, architects, engineers, renovation companies, real estate professionals, and the building-materials supply chain. The Association is dedicated to fostering exchange and cooperation within the Chinese-Canadian construction community, promoting healthy industry development, and supporting the growth of Chinese-Canadian construction and related enterprises. Its participation in the Zunyue Residence launch reflects the Association's ongoing attention to and support for the development of age-friendly communities and smart wellness initiatives in the region.
According to the organizers, the event drew more than 500 guests, with participating organizations spanning government, the healthcare system, the senior care industry, community groups, businesses, and the media — reflecting broad interest in and support for Active Aging, Smart Wellness, and age-friendly community development.
The press conference began at 11:00 am Emily Zhang, Chief Financial Officer of Woodside Square and 95 Developments, delivered welcoming remarks on behalf of the organizers, noting that Zunyue Residence is not merely about building apartments, but is a long-term social undertaking dedicated to serving the community and caring for seniors.
Government and elected representatives in attendance voiced their support for the project. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, MP Shaun Chen, Toronto City Councillor Jamaal Myers, along with York Region Councillor Joe Li, Richmond Hill Councillor Simon Cui, and a representative from the office of Regional Councillor Alan Ho, addressed the audience or sent letters of congratulation, recognizing the project's proactive response to population aging and its leadership in advancing smart wellness and innovative senior living models.
Project Introduction: Smart Wellness and Active Aging
During the project introduction, Zunyue Residence representative Mia Yang presented the project's background, operating model, architectural planning, age-friendly design, and smart wellness systems, while Simon Wang of developer 95 Developments outlined the upcoming construction plans and future vision. Guests from the senior care, healthcare, community development, and business sectors then shared their perspectives, offering positive assessments of the project's “Active Aging · Smart Wellness” philosophy.
Project Overview
Zunyue Residence is located at 1571 Sandhurst Circle, Scarborough, and adopts Canada's well-established Life Lease model. It will be operated and managed by a federally registered non-profit organization, with local integrated real estate developer 95 Developments responsible for development and construction. Construction is expected to begin in the fall/winter of 2026, with completion anticipated in the spring of 2028.
The development connects directly to Woodside Square Mall via a fully glass walkway, and is surrounded by over 600,000 square feet of commercial amenities and more than 180 merchants, including supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, dental and walk-in clinics, restaurants and food courts, and a new 11-screen LED enclosed cinema. Transit is highly convenient: a TTC stop is roughly a 3-minute walk away, Agincourt GO Station about a 10-minute walk, and Highway 401 is nearby, making family visits easy.
On the wellness side, the project introduces an AI-powered smart wellness system, with planned features including a constant-temperature, constant-humidity air purification system, smart secure door locks, an intelligent radar fall-detection system, anti-slip flooring, and impact-absorbing furniture. The community will also feature more than 30,000 square feet of activity space for seniors, hosting ongoing senior clubs, calligraphy and painting, music and dance, interest groups, and seasonal cultural events, along with translation, repair, cleaning, and errand services.
