The Canada-China Architecture Association held its 7th Annual Gala on March 25th at Casa Deluz Banquet Hall in Scarborough, aiming to convey the concept of "resource sharing and win-win cooperation." More than 700 people, including dignitaries, members of the public, community guests, industry leaders, and all board members of the association, gathered together.

Political figures, councilors, and councilor candidates were invited, including Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Consul General of the Consulate General of Toronto Li Tong, Richmond Hill Deputy Mayor and Regional Councillor Chen Zhihui, and Markham councillor candidate Sun Zhifeng.

In his opening remarks, Wen Wenwei, President of the Canada-China Architectural Association, stated, “Tonight is our association’s first annual celebration since the pandemic. It’s worth celebrating that our association has grown and thrived despite the challenging environment in recent years. Many elite companies in the construction industry have become our council members, working together to promote the development concept of ”resource sharing and win-win cooperation“ within the Chinese construction industry. The impressive lineup of sponsors this year reflects the broader attention and support our association has received. Therefore, this year our association has appointed a full-time manager to better provide timely services and assistance to members in need.” He also noted, “Looking back at the development of the Chinese construction industry in Canada over the past forty years of reform and opening up in our motherland, it can be said to have grown from nothing to maturity. Everywhere we look, we see hardworking hands silently contributing to the construction of countless buildings, among whom are many highly skilled individuals with remarkable achievements.”

Wen Wenwei, President of the Canada-China Architectural Association, delivered a speech.

Meanwhile, David Yang, Executive Chairman of the Canada-China Construction Association, also mentioned in his speech, "Since its establishment seven years ago, the Canada-China Construction Association has adhered to the principle of service, assisting member companies in analyzing problems in business management, technological progress, and development strategies, proposing improvements and suggestions, guiding construction companies and key project units to improve management and increase efficiency, building an innovative development platform for the construction industry, and striving to create an ideal ecological environment for the brand development and high-quality project reconstruction of all members. We closely follow the forefront of architectural theory and technology development, actively carrying out forward-looking architectural theory seminars, project seminars, and various training courses."“

The Canada-China Architectural Association, formerly known as the "Canadian Chinese Architectural and Renovation Association," was officially registered in Ontario in 2017 as a non-profit organization. The association was founded by Mr. Wen Wenwei of Eastway Architectural Company, who served as its founding president. Since its inception, the association has actively carried out beneficial activities, frequently holding seminars and lectures on architectural expertise. To elevate the association to a larger, more representative, and broader-reaching professional group encompassing various functions within the architectural industry, enabling its members to keep pace with technological advancements and achieve sustainable development, the board of directors discussed and approved re-registration in February of this year, changing the name to "Canada-China Architectural Association." A new bylaw has also been drafted.
